Simple Ways To Spice Up Your Home

Whether you are selling a home, moving or staying in the same place, these tips will bring life to your home. Simple, easy upgrades can really make your home charming and stand out to potential buyers or even friends and family.

  1. Upgrade light fixtures. Replacing an old fan or light fixture is an inexpensive way to light up a room.
  2. Paint. Whether it is painting kitchen cabinets or bedroom walls, a touch up of paint can bring life to your home.
  3. Get rid of popcorn ceiling. Popcorn ceilings are outdated. Removing it yourself is cheap but it can get messy.
  4. Update cabinet handles. Kitchen cabinet handles get dirty, greasy and grimy. Either clean the handles or update your kitchen with new handles to show your personality.
  5. Reseal all cracks in your tub and tile with caulking. Caulking can crack, shrink, discolor and develop mold. Removing existing caulk and replacing it will give your bathroom a fresh, clean look.
  6. Get new outlet plates. Outlet plates and light switch covers are cheap but they can get dirty and have old paint on them.
  7. Update locks and hardware. Over time locks get worn, they lose their color and get mismatched. Update to keep them all the same finish and to make sure they work properly to keep your home secure.
  8. Add a kick plate to your front door to cover door scuffs. It is easy to kick the door open with your foot when your hands are full of groceries. A kick plate can cover those kick marks and make it look new again.
  9. Landscape. Adding some flowers, rocks, bushes and stones can really make your house stand out from the street.

You don’t have to spend a fortune to update your home. Adding a few decorations and updating certain features can simply refresh your home to make it yours. Be creative!
